100 Things About Jaryn - Part Four

Hellloooooo!!!

I still owe you guys this!
I know I have given myself until 31 December to complete this task, and though I am clearly cheating my way through this, nevertheless you'll want to read the last two parts!!

The clock is ticking as I type this. 2009 is fast approaching, like the slide of the water theme parks. You know they go fast, but you do not know exactly how fast it could really go until you are done with it. Get it? Hah.

Anyways, here you go, another 20 things.

1) I have been ordering Iced Milo at McDonalds for the past three times that I was there.
Errrr, stupid right, because I can drink milo at home, and one glass of
Iced Milo costs RM3 plus ++ in McDonalds. Soexpensivewtf.

2) I just cut my fringe. Everyone (Err, two person so far but I'll just bundarkan to everyone) says I look like Cleopatra. WhichmeansIlookhotlahwtf!

3) I need a new pendrive. Should have included this in my X'mas list to Santa.

4) Hmm, not that it would be of any difference. No hot new boyfriend or any new shoes this x'mas. The letter got lost somewhere and did not reach the Santa? Hmmmph.

5)Am I cheating again?

6) HAHAHA I think I am!

7) Whoohoooo this is fun.

8) I want to go fishing!! But doubt I will go anytime soon :(

9) I also love hiking. Anybody? Let's go Moongate or BJ!

10) I make kickass mashed potato's.

11) I make kickass Maggi Mee too. HAHAHAHA :D

12) I love Adam Sandler movies. All except for You Don't Mess With the Zohan.

13) Speaking of which, I want to watch Bedtime Stories! Ask me out to watch this movie!

14) I want to marry a footballer. You know, one who earns 120,000 pounds per week. Hahadreamon!

15) I am addicted to Doreamon's theme song. Ang ang angggggggggg!

16) I am also addicted to the song called "The Thing You Do" by The Wonders.

17) Now, here comes the good one.

18) Ready? (HAHAHAH CHEATER ME!)

19) I went clubbing. SHITWTF right. My first time. SS. On Boxing Day.

20) Well, if you ask, I'd say it was fun. I had fun dancing my night away.
But it was way too smoky, and my ears are still 85.6 percent deaf until now.
Doubt I will be going clubbing anytime soon.
I'll stick to mamak's and cafe's, thank you very much.

See you soon!

How was your Christmas, ya'll?

Whether you partied your way until 2am by the streets of Gurney Drive
or had a quiet countdown with your loved ones at home,
I hope you had a Christmas as merry and fulfilling as mine.

:-D

I am still in the merry mood by the way, though it has been two days past the 25th.

My brain is now subconsciously planning what to do on New Year's Eve.
You see, I have been thinking about everything fun and nothing college work that last night,
I actually dreamt that I have an exam on the 29th of December which I forgot about.

I woke up from the dream.....ASTONISHED.
There is no way I have an exam on Monday. NO WAY.
Do not steal my rip-roaring, carefree time away!

Itseemedsorealwtf!!!

Anyway, I just came back from the movies
(Again! My purse is getting lighter thanks to GSC really).

Watched Ip Man, starring Donnie Yen, which was AWESOME.

(And Donnie Yen, which by the way was SO SO SO CHARMING!)

Everyone told me it is good and that I should watch it.
But the truth is, I was a little skeptical about good reviews of movies.
I didn't like my expectations to be raised up (or down) when it comes to movies for the sole reason I just did not want to be prevented from enjoying a movie which I would have otherwise judge based on my very own unbiased opinion. Hmm?

But...I LOVE IT LOVE IT ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

Also, United won the match against Stoke on the Boxing Day feature,
THANKKK GOOODNESSSS.

I was hoping for the score to be 13-0
(hahahaha an inside joke with a friend, errr just ignore my folly here tqtqtq),
but it ended up being a 1-0 victory.
United did not look fresh.
Stoke seemed to be playing their whole heart out.

Well well, as long as we got all three points!

:-)

Till then, have a great week ahead!

Happy 2008-going-to-be-2009-which-means-I-am-turning-22-wtf-I-am-old!

Only for SpyQ

Letter to Santa

Dear Santa...

My name is Jaryn and I am 5 this year. (READ: Born in 1987, but I consider myself 5 for now) This is my first letter to you. I am not sure if you'll ever read this, because people tell me you are just a myth. Even Wikipedia. But I know there is no fault in having a little hope and faith.
You are the man everyone loves and adores, and I am no exception. You bring joy to the world, making all of us smile, young to old. And you have to know...

Dear Santa...

I have been good this year - all year. Err okay, maybe..just maybe, I've had my naughty times, but they were all good innocent naughty, not very naughty naughty.
Santa, you know what I mean right? I know you do, so you know I have been nice..

Dear Santa...

I look forward to Christmas because the malls will be filled with Christmas decorations.
The lights are so pretty. They make me tickled-pink. The twinkling lights makes me grin and beam.
I tell people I like the shopping part, well I do. But Santa, you know I am not that much into shopping after all. It is the Christmas spirit itself that I love.
The holiday mood, family members and friends spending time together. I prefer this part more, you know...

Dear Santa...

A letter to you would not be complete without my own wish list, isn't it? Teehee.
I want...

  • My family to always be happy and healthy.
  • To do well in my studies and to graduate next year.
  • To have all my amazing friends by my side, always also!
  • For everyone to love, love and love!

Dear Santa...

I know my wish list is corny somewhat. But I mean it.

So Santa, please remember to give me the above four.
Thank youuuuuuuu...

Dear Santa...

Merry Christmas in advance. Please do take care when you travel around in your sleigh. Also, send my best wishes to all your cute elves.
And most importantly, thank you for showing me the meaning of sharing and giving...

P.S: Just so you know, I was very much inclined to include a laptop, a pair of Levi's, shoes (SHOES!!!), a trip to Bali and a hot new boyfriend (who else better to visit Bali with) in my wish list................................hmmm.... HO HO HO!

Lots of love,
Jaryn

Now, I can partay...

I am pleased I did my best for my trials last week.

You see, I could have evaded the exam, and it would not have affected my final marks. Not even one tiny bit.

Seriously, it was very tempting to take the easy way out. First of all, I was not prepared for the exam. Secondly, I was very much in an a Christmas mood. And not forgetting, I have already started my Chinese New Year shopping.

Actually, I am just naturally playful. LOL. I am a legend for that. I AM LEGEND. Okay.
Besides,
"December is a party month!", This phrase is injected into my brain ever since I knew what partying is. It is like I am programmed to be playful. Heeeee.

But right from the beginning, I knew I would never have the heart to skip the (any) exam.
There is no need to weigh the pro's and con's of whether or not I should do it or skip it.
The verdict is out long time ago, the case have been decided - I must do it.

The distractions presented themselves at every opportunity available.
I had a hard time rejecting them. It was arduous to turn away from things like these. It was irritatingly unyielding to choose to sit and study, but the harder path was always the right path :)

There were a couple of things particularly that accompanied me through my burn-my-midnight-oil hours. Here is a toast to them for all their abundant help.

1) The Christmas CD my brother burned for me.

2) The asam my mom bought for me.

3) The hugs my dad gave me.

4) Wallace's and Chloe's pictures.

5) And of course, the thought that once I am done with this exam, I can partay the remaining month as hard as I want.

Cheers. I love you all :)

Now, I am allowed to forget my books. At least for now. Just for now.

EXAMS!

My examinations are starting tomorrow, until this Friday.

No updates here while I work my ass off at my study desk.

Wish me luck. Pleeeease. Thank you. I love you! You rock.

:)

Till then, Happy It's-almost-Christmas to you!

When I was 18..

National Service, again and again has come under plenty of scrutiny as of late. Many want the Government to abolish this programme.

They say it is a waste of taxpayers money. Or that we cannot transform an ordinary student fresh out of Form Five into a patriot who love the country endlessly in the short period of three months.

I will have to admit that these are quite true, and I cannot help but be saddened by the unfortunate cases of death happening in the camp, the claimed terrible hygiene, and the safety of the participants not being watched closely enough.

This is sad, and should not happen. Life is never something we take risk of.

But I just cannot help but to say that my stint in Kem Syruz, Bukit Mertajam was just freaking awesome.

When I found out that I was picked to join, I was of mixed feelings no doubt.

Happy for obvious reasons; because I've always love outdoor activities, meet new people and embrace the diversity of cultures.

Sad for obvious reasons too; I would have to be away from home. I am very attached to my family, everyone who knows me well know this. So the idea of not being able to see my parents everyday freaked the hell out of me.

It was not hard for me to accept this, and soon enough, I was getting more and more excited about NS.

I met some of the best people ever during my days in the camp. I was blessed that I was surrounded by these amazing people. Boys and girls. Chinese, Indian and Malays. We were all living as one. We became friends in an instant, and over the days, we bonded and before we knew it, we were sharing our body shampoo like the best of friends. We stayed up late until 3am chatting away about our boyfriends (or lack of them).

There were fights, minor or not-so-minor ones, between some of my friends. Difficult times, haha. But they overcame the differences and as their teammate and roommate, I just could not help but feel so proud of being part of the team.

We were especially "together" when we had competitions. From he kayak competition to the "elections" to the singing competition, we were like one whole single human body. The loss of one limb or one eye-sight would mean terrible loss to the body.
And so, we worked together. As one single unit. It was not easy at first, but we became so comfortable with one another, all these became rather normal. We cry together, we laugh together.
It was all about being together. It was the right thing then, and will be the right thing for always.

This was all so overwhelmingly great because we only knew one another for less than three weeks, and we were all from different backgrounds and upbringing. Really, sometimes us humans do amazing stuffs.

We raided the deep dark jungle with one compass and one torchlight. About a dozen girls with nothing but our guts and one another. Our legs were bruised by the pineapple leaves, we were frightened by the sounds of the wind even, and in the total darkness, we kept on encouraging one another, slipping down the slopes knowing that we would all make it back to our camp safely. And we did it, of course.

And I happened to celebrate my 18th birthday in the camp. It was SPECTACULAR.
All the girls in my group surprised me with a big birthday cake and stuffs. The wonderful things friends do for you.
I think I actually cried. How could I not.

Those trips to the temple where we would all sing and dance, the BBQ and karaoke sessions, the times when we slept during classes, those night duties we had, the times of fall and the times of glory.

As I see it, there was no black or white, only humility, love and sportsmanship.

I miss the canteen. I miss the clean fresh air that runs into your lungs. I miss the scenic view of the mountains. I miss the burger stall. I miss seeing the stars shining in the sky so brightly every night.
I miss the place. I miss the people. I miss the whole thing.

I do not know if NS should ever be scrapped.

All I know is it was one of the best times of my life.

Jaryn goes to her computer to blog

Oh I love playing charades.
During parties, get-togethers , road-trips etc.

We had to come out with the most creative ideas ever.

I remember during the annual New Year's Eve parties I have had in my house, we got so involved, you have no idea to which extent we will act the object out.

The rule of the game is like this : The sentence contains SOMEONE goes to SOMEWHERE to do SOMETHING. So it is WHO, WHERE and WHAT.

For example: Jaryn goes to Penang Bridge to play Uno.

I tell you, we went nuts. It was crazy, it was fun, it was freaking awesome.
We came up with the most ridiculous sentences ever.

We even had sentences like, Pamela Anderson goes to KLCC to do the tango.

Okay, Pamela Anderson was relatively easy, as her prized-assets were not a problem to "act" out. KLCC was easy as well. And tango was obviously easy. You just act out the dance, and the guessers would have guessed it!

It is mind-boggling and best played when the objects are abstract!

Say... Parameswara goes to Sarawak Bumi Kenyalang to comprehend the Chemistry equation.

HAHAHAHA. Hard eh? Now, this one is considered quite easy already. As long as we know who Parameswara is, there will always be a way to act it out somehow.

Imagine we get a name like
Giuseppe Averani (an Italian jurist and naturalist). A name who is not as common as Britney Spears or Kenny Sia.

You'll do starjumps, climb sofa's, show your middle finger, dirty-dance. Anything. Anything at all to achieve your target and make your friends guess the words correctly.

The result : LAWAK!! Saya suka!!!

This game is fun, it makes us laugh, it makes us think, it requires both mental and physical strengths. This game is the best party game ever!

Anyone want to play charades with meeeee?

Call me, ok ok ok?

LOL!

  • My exam is next week! Great isn't it. I just love exams.

  • I just came back from a night jog and have not taken my bath yet. It's 12.13am as of now. I am sticky. Yuck. Great isn't it.

  • I am not updating in here as often as I should be. NOT great isn't it.

  • I have no idea why I put the title of this post as LOL. With the exclamation mark. Great isn't it.

  • And what's with this bullet point thingy. What is going on.

:)

Jingle bells!

I am in such a Christmas mood!

~~Dashing through the snow... in a one horse open sleigh....~~

P.S : Santa, I have been really really good.
