I am back

It was a Monday night. I was holding my ever-so-reliable-trust-me-the-ink-will-never-dry-off Carrera B6 pen. I was twirling it. A piece of A4 paper I tore off from the notepad stared back at me. I wanted to write something. Anything. God forbid, for what seemed like a long long time, I have stopped writing. Well, of course I write during exams, I write work-related articles back at well, work. I mean, yes I have been writing, but I have not been writing the way I remember I loved. And I cannot bear that notion of me forgetting that. I mean, nothing is as scary as losing sight of the way to love, the things to love.

Back in those days, I rejoiced, celebrated and solemnized at every essay homework, English or Bahasa Malaysia. Seriously. I would write a 10,000 word essay than to do one single al-whatever-gebra-question. I sucked at al-whatever-gebra as much as Heidi Montag's plastic surgeon's skills.

It is not by accident or a flick of a coin that I went to law school. It makes the most perfect most defectless sense that I am a law graduate. I was blessed with THE lethal combination of all time. I loved writing/languages/history-ish stuffs AND I hated Mathematics. And Physics. And Chemistry. Nothing beats this super-ingredient! Oh I loved Biology but that does not count because I was just too excited about the chapter on you know, the birds and bees.

So yeah, back to my point, I loved to write.

The emotion. It's a like a fiery provocative challenge. Yet if you're on the go, it becomes easy, comforting, soothing, liberating. There is no end. No full-stop. Every word leads to more word. Every interpretation leads to more interpretation. No mathematic equation will ever make me feel this way and i don't intend for that to change. I like the openness of it all. There is no right, there is no wrong. There is no black nor is there white.

"To me, the greatest pleasure of writing is not what it's about, but the inner music the words make" -Truman Capote, McCall's, November 1967

I remember a year ago, after finding out I passed final year, I wrote here that wanted to go out and conquer the world. I wanted to fly up high into the sky. So did I? I did. I really did, in my corner of the world. In my own terms, my own way, my own definition, I took the first step to flying. I spread my wings.

The past one year has been rewarding in all ways possible. I worked as a Personal Assistant to a company director and I swear to you, I must have done something right along the way to have been offered this position. I learnt things law school would never be able to teach me, I met the most amazing people that I would otherwise would not have met, I did things I never thought I was able to do. I have since (heart-wrenchingly) stopped work there because I had to concentrate on my CLP exams. Now, even CLP has ended.

What do I do next? I am asking the same question I asked myself a year ago.

If there was one thing I realised, it is that the crossroads don't end the moment we decide on something. The very decision we make (or not) leads to more crossroads and more decisions.

Life - it is like writing, no? There is no end. No full-stop. It's open. Heck it'll always be open - unbarred, exposed, naked. What's there not to like?

So I made it..

There were less drama this year. Just a lot of thinking.

Just plain;
I did it. Wow. Now breathe. And breathe again. Go buy yourself a new pair of shoes. Breathe. A new lipgloss too. Followed by a good meal. Breathe. Then dance your ass away at SS or something.
Breathe. Breathe.

When the partying is over, and your feet whispers and tells you,

"Hey Miss Owner, I am aching all over. You might be high on the Guiness so you don't feel it? But I feel like chopping myself off your wasted body."
(Hypothetically speaking of course, since I am a proud teetotaler.)

So okay. You sit down. In your bedroom. Maybe by the beach.
What next? Breathe. Breathe? What next. What. Next?

Can I just stay in the here? In the now?
In this Yay-I-Just-Graduated-Let's-Go-Shopping world?
And then when tomorrow comes, it's another Yay-I-Just-Graduated-Let's-Go-Shopping!
And the day after tomorrow?
You bet, another Yay-I-Just-Graduated-Let's-Go-Shopping!

I can go on and on and on and on.

But no.
The world is out there. For you. And for me. To conquer.
Intimidating is the word. But FIGHT is a bigger word.
You've got to try. I've got to try, no?

Get over the wonderings. You might as well sit and home and watch your ceiling for 10 straight hours and then feel like crap for the next 10 hours.
And then you would have lost almost a day. Gone. Just like that.

Have you watched Up?
Yeah I want to be like Carl.
You know? Do anything anytime. All consequences be damned. Be damned.
I want to tie balloons to my house and fly to South America.
(Of course with a grown-up Russell who hopefully would have dropped some pounds, lol)

Breathe. I did it. A law graduate. I've worked this hard and come this far.
But so what? Nothing has changed. I have not changed. I never want to anyway.
So. Breathe. Are you breathing? Because I am.

For until I am ruthlessly impressed...

Inspire me.
Make me think. Make me wonder.

I want to go up. Up. And higher up. I never want to stop.

Click click!

I see myself walking my talk.

The undertakings seem a lot nearer this time.

:)

And, Happy 22nd Birthday my dearest duuuuuude, Baljit!

No ah, boy?

Grab one yourself!

I still have not finished reading Deception Point. Too busy and occupied to finish it in a go. But yet the book is too awesome for me to wait till I retire at 55 years old.

I have to read a couple of pages every night before I go to bed. No matter how tired I was on the day, I'd make sure I catched up on at least two friggin' page. Rachel Sexton. Darn. Her name alone can make guys wink three or four times. Or five. And her father, future-US-President-but-up-to-where-I-read-it-is-soon-to-be-doubtful Senator Sedgewick Sexton slept with Gabrielle Ashe! It's becoming a ritual. Not the sleeping. But my nightly dose of the novel. Ah I lost you didn't I?

Hehhh.

Ooh I have this sudden urge to read Lawrence Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Developments. Again. Haha. Yup. All the working is making me a bookworm (and why so, I do not know!). It was part of syllabus for my final year of studies, under Feminist Jurisprudence. I have to admit I did not fully understand it the way I should and could have, as I was (as usual) rushing through my readings. But it was really an intriguing read. And to read in from the point of view of feminist jurisprudence made it a lot more interesting so to say.....

Until then...

You go grab read a book (not boob) and read, too!

The road, taken?

It seemed like yesterday when I received my UPSR results. My mother had known it first from my teacher, and when she told me, I remember literally jumping up and down with joy.

Then the next thing I knew, it was time for my PMR results. I got six A's and one B, and I cried like a hungry little baby the whole day. When you are in a school like SGGS where almost everyone excels, trust me, not getting straight A's made you feel like the dumbest person on Earth. I felt so devastated. Now that I think about it, I probably should not be so hard on myself. But I know it was all part of growing up and learning to be strong.

Then came the SPM results doomsday, and A-Levels, and so on.

BAMMMM!

Here I am. A graduate. At crossroads.

"And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could"

It is really an exciting and captivating spot to be in. Financial independence is foremost crucial for me. But the fact that I will finally be out there in the real world now, out of my comfort zone, is what makes me feel alive. To meet new people, to learn new things. To do things I usually do not do. It must have been a spectacular phase of life for most. How can it not be. It would and should and could have worked wonders to your soul.

Yet somehow, it all seems appealingly obsolete. Change is always a hard thing. The laws of inertia is probably one of the most practical laws of Physics for me, haha! Going to college, knowing I have my amazing friends around me, laughing, making jokes, playing pranks on others, paying (or rather, not) attention in class. Ahh it's nothing but over.

Time to finally fly. Set sail into the big big ocean.

"Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way"

I have dreams that I don't want to see remain as dreams. This might seem like a small step for me now, but it is the one step that will, I believe with all my heart, that will lead me to rewarding days.

Oh Ronnie...

Last year around the same time, he stayed for one more season when
he was supposed to have left. See HERE.

This time around, it's for REAL (pun intendend).

Ronnie, you'll be missed, really.

But we all move on.

OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KRISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!

KRISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been supporting him since the day he flashed his guitar and keyboard playing skills!!!

And not to forget that megawatt smile and down-to-earth personality!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!

I don't give a damn if I sound like those giggling teenagers who root for Kris because he is cute so freaking cute so so freaking cute yadda yadda!!!!

I DO NOT CARE!!!!!!

All I know is...............HE WON!!!!!!!

HE WONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

:D :D :D

Sure, Adam Lambert is awesome (and that would be an understatement) and I love that guy too. But Kris thoroughly deserve to win!
I despise it when people don't give Kris enough credit. It's one thing to say Adam is better and another to say Kris doesn't deserve to win.
He can't sing? He is more of your conventional whole package thingy as compared to Adam?
He is from the southern part of the USA and thus can garner more votes? Gokey fans vote for him? Blahhhh who cares. He WON. It's all fair and it's all as square.

HAHAHAHAHAH KRISSSSSSSSSS!!
CONGRATS KRISSS!!

Freedom from pride?

If there is one thing that we need to learn to earn,
it is respect.

Not that it matters what others think about us,
it just matters that you have the integrity to care enough to learn.

And, if there is one thing we need to safeguard once we have earned the respect,

it is humility.

It is the only thing that can bring us far.

How beautiful a day can be!

"Today I bent the truth to be kind, and I have no regret,
for I am far surer of what is kind than I am of what is true"

~Robert Brault

:)

It felt sooooo good, I actually cried.

Indeed, giving do feel a million times better than receiving.

Butterfly's flying.

A classic case of bittersweetness.

Weariness plays no part.

Really.
Stop, and smell the flowers.

:)

Rain rain go away....

Oh please do not rain tonite.

Be all windy and cloudy.
As windy as it can possibly be will mean an increase in the awesomeness level actually.

But just. Don't pour.

Not tonight.

:(

Whose Line! Whose Line!

Do you know that I need my daily dose of Whose Line Is It Anyway, everyday?

This show is fanf*ckingtastically funny.

And so so f*cking smart too. These people have the brains of Einstein.

These are amazing stuffs you'll never want to not know about.
GAWD you gotta go watch it yourself to know how funny it is.

Go! Just go to Youtube. There are tonnes of them there.

Now....

Phrases you can use to describe your truck, but not your girlfriend....

1) WOW you can fit FOUR in there!

Cause once we rock, we won't wana stop!

STUDY TIME!

(Angels & Demons is not a law-related book.
And neither is the Cold War book.
I included them in because they make the picture prettier. HAHAHA.)

ROCK ON, BABEH!!

HIIIIIIAKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

When one July is all dressed up

:)

To climb the mountains.

To shake the hands of the children.

To hear the sweet songs.

When I can.

You bet I will.

Oh well....

ARGH.

It took me what it seemed like no less than 48 HOURS to find a parking lot.

ARGH.

People, just car-pool for once, please. Meeting up with your gang of ten friends and each person drives one car, that amounts to TE(n)RIBBLE cars.

Okay, the boyfriends fetch the girlfriends. Still, at least six to seven cars.
CARPOOL and we can make it in plain TWO CARS.

Save petrol. Save the compulsory 48 hours needed to search for a parking space.

Save the Earth.

SAVE EVERYONE'S SANITY.

Or take Rapid Penang. Or walk. Or stay at home watch TV. Better still, do assignments.

OR FREAKING STAY OUT OF THE FREAKING GURNEY AREA. HA HA!

Funny that I complain about this because I for one, secretly love getting stuck in traffic jams ;)

Oh well, what to do.
We all want to go out and have some fun. Life's too short.

:)

So, rojak tonite? Gurney hawkers yeah? See you there!

P.S: Chong Wei lost to Lin Dan again, damn it damn it DAMN IT.

A quickie

A short post before I head for college.

It is going to be a long day ahead, albeit a fun one , as usual!

:D

United beat Newcastle 2-1 last night.

Awesome babeh.

We are SEVEN points ahead, sitting at the pinnacle of it all, with one game in hand.

Fulham next, then the Inter Mission middle of next week, before welcoming Liverpool to Old Trafford on the 14th of March.

Surely this time, the title is ours to lose.

Complacency for me? Hard to resist. But resistable nevertheless.
