Everytime (by Britney-pre-all-those-things)

Notice me, take my hand
Why are we strangers when
Our love is strong
Why carry on without me....

Everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, it's haunting me
I guess I need you, baby....

I make believe that you are here
It's the only way I see clear
What have I done..
You seem to move on easy

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby ...

I may have made it rain
Please forgive me
My weakness caused you pain
And this song's my sorry .....

At night I pray
That soon your face will fade away....

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby....

P.S: Siam Ban Luck Fever all weeeeeek!!

Same post, brand new year!

Last year, I wrote the below in LiveBlog Facebook (which I have since abandoned) in my anticipation of Chinese New Year.

Here's a copy & paste of it. I feel exactly the same so why not let you read it. Enjoy!

***************************************************

People......Chinese New Year is next week! (Well in this case, it's the day after tomorrow!!!)

WHoooHoooooooooooooooo! My fav time of the year, any year!

Why my CNY rocks and I love it love it love it!

1) Family gatherings - Having a really big and really fun-loving and funny extended family just makes it so merry! Relatives near and far all spending time together. I’m sure I’d be laughing and playing a lot!

2) Steamboat - OMG. The prawn, the home-made fishball, the delicious soup, the everything! Glorious steamboat.

3) Ang Pao’s - Need I say more.

4) Cookies - It’s not everyday that I can have like, 582 different kinds of cookies right in my living room. (Okay I’m obviously exaggerating, but sure you know what I mean)

5) Puak Kiao (edited: freaking puak kiao!) - What is CNY without this? LOL. Besides, it gives us the chance to bond, right? Teeheee :)

6) Non-stop mahjong sessions - It’s so addictive!

Besides all that I’ve listed of course, CNY is awesome because of its aura, ambience, mood and even the scent

(of Mandarin oranges plus red packets? Erm, can’t find a better combo).

Ahhh..GONG XI FA CHAI!

Have a good year ahead, my friends! A good good one!

**************************************************

May you have a happy happy Year of Ox!

I deserve...

...a kick on my ass.

I see a man driving a hot new BMW, and I think, "Wow, he must be a successful rich loaded man".

And I see a woman driving an equally hot car. No prize for guessing right. I think "Lucky bitch, her husband must be rich!".

How can I be thinking like this! Of all people, me who believes in all things girl-power.
I am not a feminist but I've always fight and argued and justify anything and everything for the fairer sex. The world is. I am one of the millions of educated confident happy women in the world who believes. The female population is aware, in fact much more than just aware. We have done it.

We are good at playing the man's game now. Sometimes I think, we are even better then them playing their game. There are plenty of woman out there who have been there, done that, and live to tell their succes stories.

And yet.

That was the first thought that went through my mind.

Guilty as charged.

I've just finished...

....the whole Season One of Brothers and Sisters.

Brilliant. I am a fan.

I am hooked onto the characters and their develpments, and goodness, what a joy it is to watch a series that does not go around the usual you-are-kinda-cute-so-let's-have-sex-nevermind-the-fact-that-I-am-not-even-a-high-school-senior and damn-I-am-a-size-two-therefore-I-am going-on-a-plain-water-only-diet-until-I-get-back-my-size-negative-six-figure, or a certain Meredith's why-is-the-world-so-unfair-why-me-why-me-why-me-why-me-why-me-it's-all-about-me Hollywood themes. Not that these are wrong because in fact I love them but, it is so refreshing to just escape from something which is so common.

Brothers and Sisters is about family and the unconditional love so deep and genuine that only family and family alone can provide us with. It has lies and fights and pains, but also love and hope and trust. It also tackles issue like political differences and homosexuality.

The show makes us feel that I will always be loved. Not that we am not aware of that.
It's just serves as that extra reminder. You know, that extra caramel topping on your ice-cream.

It makes me want to just fight with my brother over who gets to use the computer just for the sake of it and then laugh about it with him soon afterwards.

It makes me want to do things I never was brave enough to do because I know my family will stand alongside me...

..always!

Attitude

" The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumctances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearances, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. "

A masquerade...

As I see the fireworks in the sky,

exploding into colours of glory like mystical shooting stars
dancing harmoniously
with such slender,

Ushering us humans into a brand new year,
signifying an unspoiled, untried, unexplored yet comfortably familiar beginning....

Gasp!

I stood there worrying how much these fireworks cost.

And that the money could have been used to feed the poverty-stricken orphans in Nepal and elsewhere, saving lives, creating joie de vivre for those who needed it most,
rather than giving us a few minutes of pleasure we probably would have forgotten the moment it ended.

Instead of wanting more and and itching for better pleasures,

why not try counting our blessings this year around.

Happy New Year! :)

Keane makes a point

---------------------------------------------

"We had failed to defend the Champions League. To be honest I wasn't surprised. After winning the treble, I knew it would be hard to generate the hunger required to go for the Premiership/Champions League double the following season. I felt my first pangs of doubt standing in the dressing room at the Nou Camp after we'd beaten Bayern. The champagne was flowing, people were going fucking crazy. Of course this was understandable, human nature. But my true, unspoken feeling was that we were lucky to beat Bayern on the night. In the circumstances I couldn't say it. I hadn't contributed. That, though, is what I believed. Bayern 'bottled' it, threw it at us. Maybe I was just being sour, hurt at missing out on the great occasion. Don't be bitter, Roy, let the lads savour the achievement. That argument was countered by another thought: we were dead lucky against a team that bottled it.

When i heard the post-game interviews, my doubts were increased. A couple of players told the press that after this they didn't care if they never won another trophy! Hello, I thought. Overexcited maybe, but what the fuck are we ging to do next year? Is that it? We've made history. Now we pack it in? Don't care if you don't win another trophy? Jesus. Start thinking like that and you won't win another trophy. Don't be bitter, Roy, the little voice in my head insisted.

(...)But the rot had set in at Old Trafford, beginning that memorable night when we claimed the treble. For months afterwards the treble haunted us wherever we went. Well into the following season we were being saluted as heroes, history-makers, better than the 1968 team, the team of the century. Signing photographs with the three trophies, talking about that 'great night' that we'll never forget. It doesn't matter what we do now, we'll never be forgotten. It's still goin on today! It drove me crazy then, it drives em crazy now. What about the next step, the one that would take us beyond Premiership 'glory' to the level of Real Madrid? We should have enjoyed the night... and then moved on. We didn't. For that we would pay the price. Never win another fucking trophy. The rot takes a long time to fully set in. Defeat by Real Madrid was OK, because you couldn't do it every year. Why not? Liverpool did. Real did. Juventus did. Bayern did. I kept my mouth shut. Except to family and close friends."

-Roy Keane. The Autobiography, p. 223-224

---------------------------------------------

I read this extract in one of the discussion board of the United group in Facebook, where one fan brought this topic up after the way United played against Stoke, which apparently shows some degree of lack of hunger in the players. (We won three major trophies in 2008)

This got me thinking hard and long.

And this discussion thread was an interesting read.

We won it all last season. A victory in Moscow. A victory back home. We won the marathon. We created history again. Are we still hungry for to win? Well of course. But how much? As bad as John Terry? I hate to admit this, but I don't think so.

Roy Keane may be labelled as bitter for writing the above. Afterall, he missed that *footgasm optimus* game in Nou Camp.
But he's got a point here. And one hell of a point.

We do not sit back even after we've achieved the best. We go out and try harder. Yearn for something which is better than the best. Eh?

I think that feeling of wanting to win, to be the best, to take it all will always be there.
Our surroundings mould us to feel that way.

I am sure the United players do not wish to end this season empty-handed!!
The way I see it, once we've achieved the best, we try even harder.
It's easy to reach the top they say, and even harder to stay there. Spot on.
We don't lose ourselves in the midst of endless flow of Cabernet Sauvignon.

United is doing pretty well actually. If we can make full use of the two games in hand, we'll be second in the table. Only one point adrift of Liverfool (Stevie G may be going to jail, LOL).
We've got the most difficult away games played in the first half of the season. So the harder games are cleared.

All I know is, I am, as a fan watching from the baseline, sodamnfuckinghungry for another glorious season. With the Liverpool and Chelsea wanting to win badly, United will have to go one gear higher. Bring the tempo up.

UNITED GO GO GO!

How do you....

....cure a very bad sore throat that comes with painful coughs?

Tell me. Tell me fast.
